I'm not going to post the video, so you can follow the links if you wish.

According to a news release from the Vatican published by Catholic Online, Murad was killed in Gassanieh, in northern Syria, in the convent of the Custody of the Holy Land where he had taken refuge.

The news release states, “The circumstances of the death are not fully understood. According to local sources, the monastery where Fr. Murad was staying was attacked by militants linked to the jihadi group Jabhat al-Nusra.”

Archbishop Jacques Behnan Hindo, titular of the Syrian Catholic archeparchy in Hassaké-Nisibis said, “Lately, father Murad sent me some messages that clearly showed how conscious he was of living in a dangerous situation, and offered his life for peace in Syria and around the world. ”

This is the same group that we are sending arms and aid to.  This is the same group that John McCain posed for a photograph with and held talks with.  This is the same group I wrote my senator about.  But noooOOOOoooo....they are our allies!  Rolling Eyes

Mohammad Nour, is the chief spokesman and photographer for the Northern Storm Brigade.

Syrian rebels behead priest Empty Re: Syrian rebels behead priest

I just wrote my Senators and Representatives again about this issue.  I think its important to stay in contact with our elected officials.  Its our way to participate in govt and let them know how we feel.

Here's what I sent.

Dear Senator Shelby,

Recently I wrote and urged you to take a stand against our supporting the Syrian Rebel forces in the Middle East.  You replied that it is "our responsibility to support our allies as part of joint military operation".

I understand this, but I would like to reiterate that these rebels are not our allies.  They are made up of terrorists.

On July 1st, World Net Daily posted an article on their website about a Catholic priest being beheaded by these radicals.  The militant group Jabhat al-Nusra in Gassanieh, killed this poor priest in northern Syria, in the convent of the Custody of the Holy Land where he had taken refuge.

Jabhat al-Nusra has been listed as a foreign terrorist organization.  And the leader of the National Coalition for Opposition Forces and the Syrian Revolution (Moaz al-Katib) has asked that we remove al- Nusra from this terrorist list.

These are the sort of people we are dealing with now.  We are supplying Al-Quaida linked terrorist groups with arms and who knows what else.  Senator John McCain has asked that we give these killers heavy weaponry.

I would urge you again to take a stand against this action.  These are hateful groups and we should spend our time and resources helping our true friends in Israel.
Thanks so much for your consideration.

When writing your elected officials its important to be polite and respectful.  Especially if you want them to take you seriously.  It will probably be handled by a staffer, but the message will get through...or it usually does.  You can find out how to email your elected reps at WWW.usa.gov
