#Missing #Firefighter Token Adams,41, has been missing since last Friday while scouting a lightning caused fire in New Mexico. Adams grew up in the Corsegold-Oakhurst area and graduated from Yosemite High School. He works for the US Forest Service and is a Navy veteran. Over 100 searchers are on the ground and in the air right now. He is well equipped and well trained, but not a radio or cell call since he talked to his wife at 1pm Friday afternoon. Please spread the word and send good thoughts his way, hopefully he will be found soon.

-KMPH FOX 26, Fresno, CA

This guy is from my home town, North Fork. While I didn't know him, I knew two of this brothers. I hope he's OK.

NEW MEXICO - After a week of searching for hometown boy Token Adams, the Carson National Forest has released this tragic news:

We are sad to announce that the body of Jemez Ranger District Engine Captain Token Adams has been located.

Token was dispatched to locate a smoke reported on Friday, Aug. 30. Search efforts began late Friday afternoon and continued through this morning when his body was discovered.

Token was found at approximately 11:45 Friday morning by members of a search team based in the Jemez Pueblo.

Officials believe Token was injured in an ATV accident, but an autopsy must be performed before they will know the official cause of death.

The family expressed their thanks to all those who helped in the search to find Token.

Token was an Engine Captain working in Jemez Springs, NM. He was 41 years old and had been an Engine Captain on the Jemez Ranger District for 1 ½ years. He was a wildland firefighter for 10 years including previous experience as a hotshot.

Before coming to the Forest Service Token served in the U.S. Navy. He grew up in the community of Coarsegold, California, and was a 1990 graduate of Yosemite High School in Oakhurst, California.

Token is survived by his wife, Heidi, a 3-year-old son, Tristan, his mother, father, a brother and sister. Token's wife Heidi is expecting their second child.

Everyone is asked to please respect the privacy of the firefighter's family during this time of mourning. More details of this tragedy will be released as information becomes available.
