4th of July, Prairie City Style
The near by community of Prairie City put on a firework show in a pasture outside of town on Independence Day. Apparently their grand finale got a little more exciting than anticipated. It burned a little over six acres.

Oh no! Lol! Hope they got the fire out safely though. I remember when I was in jr High a history teacher at my school taught the kids how to make a pipe bomb. why he did this, I dunno. But he did. Some of the boys that lived near me decided to make one and see if it would work. they set the bomb off in our pasture. (IO wasn't there, but was working on the farm several miles away with my dad).
The bomb blew up and torched about 10 acres before the fire dept could put it out.

They got it put out without any real damage happening.

Nice, all our guy taught us was how to make an electric chair. Slightly less damaging to the environment....
