Another way to serve in the military

Have you ever thought about serving in the military?
Have you completed your 3 years active?
Would you like to continue in a small way?


Then consider your State Guard - about half of all States/Commownwealaths have a State Guard (Defense Force, Military Reserve, ect)

This is NOT the National Guard- these units are strictly under the control of the Governer.

Mission:
1) Assist the National Guard during their mobilization
2) Take over the Armory in the absence of the NG
3) Assume mission in the absencse of the NG
4) Additional Support for the NG when needed
5) Provide family support of NG families.

Wow Salty, I never knew anything about this group!  I checked out the Alabama Chapter.  they are pretty selective it seems, preferring professionals, but they also take young people who are still trying to decide what their career path will be.

After active duty, I served in the USN Reserves.  Had some good times.  1 weekend a month and about 16 days training in the summer.  Met some great people!
