Lets talk about fishing instead! bounce

Do you have any in your pond?

With the weak snow pack and the high temperatures we've been having in California, I think I'll be able to get up to some of the higher elevation lakes by the end of April, mid-May at the worst. I want to try fishing Grizzly Lake (a small natural lake located in a glacial cirque at ~9000 ft in the Sierra National Forest). I was up there for work last fall and saw several rises.

Fishing Empty Fishing

I went fishing this morning, checked the water temperature (70F) and saw minnows striking and feeding for about an hour. But I caught nothing. I dunno whats going on. My friends have been catching fish in other lakes, but I want to get my pond up and going after it's 30 year sleep. Very Happy I bought some fish feed and have started throwing it out to the fish, so maybe they'll produce. I'm also thinking of buying some bass and bluegill minnows to put in the lake.

What do you mostly fish for? What sort of tackle and bait do you use?
