Still passing the buck
You would figure that now into his second term obama would start taking responsibility for this economic new normal we live in, but yesterday on his weekly internet address he again passed the buck, blaming bad decisions in washington. Can someone plz tell the prez he IS washington now

Sorry he isn't waving his magic wand hard enough? You do realize the limits on the presidents powers, right? You do realize that Congress, not the President, pass budgets (or temporary provisions, as is the mode of the day) and set spending?

I also know GOOD presidents know how to lead and work across the aisle. I wouldnt say clinton was a good president, but even he could Do this. This president however is far too ideological for that. I also know that ur argument while technically correct, is a cop-out or no presidents would get any credit or any blame. Theyre just hostages to congress right? Even when they have supermajorities their first two years? How is it bush can catch all the blame because the recession started at the end of his term, but obama, who was elected to fix the economy, cant take the blame for whats happened under his watch? Remember it was bush, then the euro dbt crisis to blame, then bush, then the arab spring, then bush, then the war in libya. This president DOES NOT know how to accept responsibility, and it really makes him look small and petty. Im not saying he has to come out and say everything is his fault, but how about he stop blaming everyone and everything else? It just gets so old!

What is really strange is that I see people, on this board, who are more critical of those who wish to curb out-of-control spending than they are of those who spend whillynilly. Really, who cares if the dollar collapses right??? As long as they keep saying "fair share" and "equal shot" many people will remain blind to what is coming.

Your and Pun's posts highlight a big piece of cognoscente dissonance in how much of the right views Obama. On one hand he is a do nothing that just sits back and blames everything on Bush, while on the other hand he is a tyrannical busy-body trying to micromanage every aspect of government.

Well of course because what he IS doing is bypassing congress and assuming even more executive powers than bush did. Hes a bum, pure and simple. The worst example of a politician. Thats what his record and actions haveshown.

Its Obama's own fault if he's seen as someone who wants to blame everything on Bush because he actually did it so often. Of course, now in his 2nd term, he's found he cant get away with that anymore, so his blame has been shifted more onto the GOP.Bryant wrote:Dennis324 wrote:Hmm...does Obama know this?Bryant wrote:Sorry he isn't waving his magic wand hard enough? As for being a do-nothing, I personally think Obama has worked tirelesly to push his vision of taking from those who have money. (I've not really seen him give much to the poor though). We on the right are often criticized for claiming Obama is a socialist...but its really hard not to. He does have socialist leanings. He wants to take money out of your pocket (if you make over X number of $) and SAYS he wants to reallocate it. I've not seen much reallocation yet though. He wants to grant practically immediate Amnesty to illegals here in this country and has indicated he will not work with those who wish to reform immigration if they dont see things his way.
He has ended all proceedings of the Guantanamo Bay military commission and signed an order to shut down the detention center.
He ended the Mexico City Policy, which required all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that receive federal funding to refrain from performing or promoting abortion services as a method of family planning with non-US government funds in other countries.
He pushed the Stimulus Act despite the protests of 99% of Republicans.
He lifted restrictions on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research despite the objections of the religious people in this country.
Lets not forget his Cash for Clunkers program.
He repealed Dont ask Dont tell.
He pushed through ObamaCare.
And he took credit for killing Bin Laden.
By June 2008, despite the war and economic problems, He managed to play his 100th round of Golf.
He managed to snub Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu during his visit to the US.
And he praised Hillary Clinton as being our best Secretary of State despite the colossal blunder of Ben Gazi.
