Why are they talking about a 4 team playoff? You gotta have at leasr an elite 8! 4 just doesnt cut it my book.

Because you can save the bowl games with only 4 teams. Any more than that and the bowls are in trouble.

Naw, there are like 50 bowl games, just have the first round be non (former) BCS bowls, and the rest of the teams can have whatevers left

Its all messed up.  The only fair way to do this is to let the Conference Champions go into a playoff.  Forget the polls.  That's subjective anyway.  And if Syracuse wins its conference and manages to beat the rest of the conference champions in a playoff...so be it.
