War is a racket, a 1933 speech given by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.

This man was 34 year vet who was, at the time of his death, the most decorated USMC in history including 2....that's right 2.....Congressional Medals of Honor.

Good speech.


I wonder if there is any connection between this and the fact that just over 70% of today's US military donates to the only non-interventionist candidate (I did and like most of the others, will be writing in my vote).
